Thanks.. i mite have to call in a pro to piggyback my IS200 ECU to run the car and leave the JZS171 ECU to run the engine. This was the 1st swap i wire up and dont know nothing about running a piggyback.

    Analog to MPX converter
    Currently supported are JZX110, JZS/UZS17x, JCG11x, UCF2x, UCF3x, JZS16x
Each chassis has its own encoding scheme

A converter can command engine control unit to activate particular mode
Standard set of modes are ECT power/snow, A/C on/off, ELS (idle up for electrical load)
Such a command is sent to ECU via MPX
Each command is activated by appropriate control wire of the converter (connect wire to ground-activate its mode)

That sounds pretty interesting. Wonder whether it would be something that would help override the cruise control limiter on my Crown?

It has nothing to do with cruise control. Not even remotely. Cruise control is activated by just one wire from ECU to earth

My understanding was that the cruise ECU picked up speed signal from the speed sensor on the output shaft of the gearbox via the multiplex and then issued commands to the throttle. I was hoping that if an analog-to-MPX converter existed, an MPX-to-analog converter might too. Sorry for the off topic.

The JZS171 has a speed sensor on the transmission which is used for automatic transmission ecu and cruise control.
I have a JZS161 motor fitted to a manual gearbox . I fitted a rotor to the output shaft to give me a speed signal for the cruise control. It now sends 10 pulses per revolution instead of 12 which enables the cruise control to go to a higher speed and raises the vehicle top speed limitation as well. The cruise control works well and I am not about to test the top speed anytime soon.

I just dont know where to get the speed signal from the jzs161 ECU #89661-3A410 we running. can someone say what pin i can get the speed signal from the jzs161 ECU?

hititup, I fabricate signal converter for that. It takes sp2 signal and alters its frequency and amplitude to suit any analog cluster. ECU still sees proper signal. I've been making these adapters since my 1st conversion (in subscript)
