You should be able to use the Microtech X6 to replace the factory igniter, however if you are running the factory engine ECU you will need to 'fake' the IGF (Igniter verification signal) from the igniter to the engine ECU that tells the engine ECU that the igniter detected that the spark event occurred correctly.

Sorry I'm not sure if you also need to fake the IGF signal with the powerFC, but my initial thoughts would be that you would not need to...
