    Default Toyota Timing Belt Profile

    I'd like to look at using a 4AGE timing belt for a project and would like to get some pullies to suit.
    Does anyone know what pitch and profile the Toyota timing belts and pullies adhere to?

    Just about bet money that it is an HTD-8M profile = 8mm pitch round tooth. Any power transmission place should be able to sell you 8M pulleys in a range of diameters (tooth numbers), but you will have to go with a standard pulley width. From memory 20mm wide pulleys are about 22-23mm wide inside the flanges to avoid wearing the edges of the belt.

    Thanks for that Jondee.
    I dug out an old 1MZFE belt and it's definitely a HTD-8M, but looking at the 4AGE timing gears, they look more like a 9-10mm pitch (9.525mm?? as they certainly don't fit the 1MZ belt.

    Yeah... just as well I didn't bet money !!! A quick look in the interweb yields this...

    DAYCO TIMING BELT -- 42.37 in. effective length, 0.75 in. top width, 113 teeth;
    A quick poke around in the shed yielded cam pulley width 24mm, belt width 19mm, belt tooth pitch 9.5mm. So that 4AGE belt is a mongrel round tooth design with a 3/8" imperial pitch. Good luck in finding pulleys for that !!!!

    Yeah ive been stung by this one, the Toyota belts are not htd.... close but no cigar. I tried to runaway smaller pulley for my oil pump but no love getting anything aftermarket to match.

    Which motor did you try that on?

    7m-ge. Closest was 8mm htd but as above 4age is different pitch.

    Why do you need a 4age belt? Just get the same length in a standard htd belt and buy pulleys to suit....
