silvertop AT ecu and blacktop seem the same
i did one 2 months ago and got it all running
maybe u have ignitor problems
is the ignitor grounded
check the igt and igf signals
have u wired up a blacktop map sensor to the ecu
i am new here.
Hope some one can help me. i have an 81 corolla with a silver top engine and a black top ecu, the ecu is M/T the loom looks like is for a A/T it matches the schematic i found, has 16,22 and 26 pin plugs, a have connected almost all using the auto schematic, seems like is almost working, i get a spark, but no power to ignition and injectors, I am getting a spark after i connected the Tac. Not sure if I am missing a power source or what, try to start the engine got back fire through the intake, if i put power to the injectors, then ground the power with a test light they work, but no with the ignition on, any ideas.. Not sure witch one is the correct diagram for the ecu.. or if can follow the A/T schematic??
Hope some one can help... Thanks

Hi
I am getting signal from igt, not sure of igf, the ignitor am using is 195, the coil pack is from a kia, i think i am getting a spark though. the ignitor is grounded to the engine and battery, map sensor is connected on last intake nipple. How many B+ did you connected?? i think i am missing one, on #13 on the 22 pin plug? not sure if that is the correct one,, don't want to burn the ecu, just want to make sure..
pin 12 on blacktop is +b
pin 13 and pin 12 is +b on auto ecu
if u look inside ecu u will se they are linked inside i think
what is kia coil pack
is it wasted spark or just a signle coil
the car made by Kia,, yea they are link, looking at a schematic.. is 2 coils in a bracket.. for the 4 plugs
try just running a single coil preferably one from toyota just to be sure
if u dont get signal from coil back to ignitor then back to ecu then it wont fire injectors
ok thanks will try to get one. will check tomorrow if igf is receiving a signal.
What about the ignition, any ideas as to why don't have power??
Isn't the silvertop an AFM setup? I presume if you're running the blacktop ECU you have also used the MAP sensor?
R.I.P Peter Brock.
yes, using map sensor
With my conversion of blacktop into an AE86, I used a blacktop engine and auto blacktop ECU. I just used a bosch HEC/MEC 716 coil but all the rest was OE toyota blacktop AE111 parts. Ignitor etc. I think you'll be having dramas trying to use th factory ECU unless you're using the important factory parts like the ignitor however I can confirm that an aftermarket coil will work as I am using one, a single one. I might even have the standard one somewhere but you don't need it.

yes he is using a map sensor
he is using a twin spark coil so maybe the resisstance is different who knows
maybe its wired up wrong
maybe ignitor doesnt like it some ignitors work some dont some give u 4000 rpm rev limits etc etc
it might even be something totally differnet
hard to diagnose just by writing afew lines on a forum
when i crank i get spark, the igt is sending a signal to the ignitor witch in turn sends a signal to the coil to fire, and i get a spark, the ignitor # is 195. seems like is working ok. but no power to ignition and injectors when cranking.
When getting Rallystanzas blacktop running on the garage floor there were similar issues. A couple of IG+ connections were missing, connected them up and it ran. With ignition on check you are getting 12V to all the important things like injectors, ignitor, coil and so on. Given you're getting spark I'd focus on the injectors.
A glance at the wiring diagram on club4ag shows silvertop injectors get power direct from the key barrel. Is this connected properly?
I need a working 4AGE bottom end. Pref smallport GZE, but all others considered. Also complete motors.
Drift Volvo. Was fun. 2JZ next time.
spray fuel down throttle body and see if it tried to run ok for a tiny bit
this will tell u spark is fine
have u put a noid light to see if injectors are pulsing
make sure injectors are powered like others have said
if u have power and injectors are not pulsing i recon u have an igt igf issue
check for dtc codes see what comes up
i think blacktops might have a blue plug which joins all powers to injectors together
have u got this plugged in and the common wire powered which powers injectors
