    Default Oil filter options

I've recently fitted a relocation kit which allows for a larger filter, does anyone use or recomend a larger genuine oil filter?

The Z9 filter screws straight on to 3/4 x 16. I will be using on my TA22's filter relocating kit.

Another for the Z9 if you have the room.
Alternatively the slightly larger filter that suits the 1UZ will fit as I use this one on my 4A and 7A engines as a direct replacement.

Check any manufacturers data for that thread size and get one that's large, has a drain-back valve, doesn't have a bypass-valve(unless you plan on never changing oil and/or filter again), and a low number to filter the smallest micron bits.

I'm going to stick to genuine. 1uz filter seems a good option, p/n I've come up with is 90915-YZZD4.

Z9 I think is used in most of the bigger Toyota commercials/4WDs, ie Landcruiser, especially diesels.

JZZ30 - Lexi the Spacecruiser, 1JZGTE>>3SGE. 200rwkw, hunting Skylines and n00bs in SS Commodores

AE82 - Rosie the Bitsa from Hell, 70.8kw atw. Has been converted into garage space and money at last
KE55 - Billie the Beast, sadly missed

I'm actually looking at trying the 1UZ filter on my 4A's. I've run 3SGTE filters in the past as they have about 15% more capacity, but the 1UZ is a massive increase. For those that are curious, here are some photos comparing the filters.

Just hope there is enough lip on the filter boss to ensure a good seal against the larger seal on the 1UZ filter.
