didn't quite get if you had any luck obtaining diagnostic parameters
hey guys.. been thru the ringer with my cressy.. 2 years after blowing head and having it fixed she's still not going great.. had the diagnostic on it but doesn't compute.. mechanic thinks the oxygen sensor may have gone after sitting around for a while and gathering moisture... or possibly the other sensor downstream.. anyone got any theories or even a spare sensor?... cheers

Engine conversion is when you drive a shitbox which costs a whole LEXUS to own
start with telling us what its doing.. how does it run, idle, when does it play up etc.. then we can help you eliminate troubles with your engine, alot of guys here will have extensive knowledge with troublesome 7m's
thanx guys.. diagnostic did not even register with cressy and 2 guys tried using latest gadget.. it runs and idles ok, just slightly rough buts gets rougher at high speed.. mechanic is pretty sure its getting wrong signal from a sensor downstream adjusting mixture when it shouldn't..
mx83 is way too outdated to accept latest gadgets. You need a thing that reads pre-1996 cars.

Hasn't blown another hg? Lol
Tps, air leaks, afm problems?.
I'd probably swap the afm first. Then maybe check timing or distributor.
you can try the 02 sensor.. have you tried cleaning the fuel injectors?.. can garentee on this old girls that they have never been cleaned since factory unless there were done during the head gasket change, makes a big difference if there abit dirty.. and cars can idle fine just act jerky when your on the move as a dodgy spray pattern is really noticable under load..
