T50 gearbox issues? TA22 celica... need help?

benny: i came to the same conclusion, that the gearbox was on its way out and the last part you wrote about the key rings comming fatigued and breaking and possibly getting lodged sounds like what has occured. i assume that the better 2t motor i put in (being more powerful) has pushed the gearbox to an early grave.

i haven't taken it out as yet, got my cousin helping as he has all the tools i need, and trying to get a free day out of him sometime soon.

got another t50 gearbox in the boot of my other celica, that was out of an ST ta22, was good when it was in about 2 years ago, so i'll drop that in and see how it goes. else shelldrake has offered me a gearbox if i still have issues, which was nice of him.

Just a helpfull hint, once you put that other box in, drive it around for a while to get the box oil heated up, and then change the oil, you'll be doing the whole box a favour, bauk rings, synco keys, the whole lot. Castrol VMX 80 will do just nicely
