    Default ST215 3SGTE - HKS EVC install

    Hi all,

wondering if anyone could help confirm what i need to do. I have a HKS EVC 6 all installed and it will only peak at 12psi (not that i want much more than that). From what i remember reading somewhere i need to disconnect or block off something? can someone please confirm what i need to do?

    Cheers

    Dean

    ok dean,
installing any boost controller is simple.
your waste gate will have two ports one goes to the compressor housing the other toward the back of the engine. the one going to the back is the turbo vsv, this is what gives you 9psi in low gears and 12 in high gears (varies with model 185's are 6-9 i believe) any way take this back line off and plug both sides.
now you should have the front port on the waste gate and compressor housing left. install the solenoid as per instructions, so one line to wastegate one to turbo and third to atmosphere i believe (thats how eboost do it).
failing to block the second waste gate port will bypass your boost controller and Run factory boost.
if you wanna bring your car over i can do this in 10 minutes (after it has cooled).
if your talking about programing the evc i have no clue but it cant be that hard....

If this works, can you post this info over in the Dina thread also? would be useful for others wanting to install some boost control.

how did you go with this dean?
if ya wanna drop by ill show u how i did mine and how to do yours. its not that hard.
    see attached drawing.
the line of the back of the waste gate just needs both sides blocked.
the line going from compressor housing to Watergate needs the solenoid inserted in between.
to get the solenoid away from heat you will need new silicone hose.

looking at the instructions nipple B is a manifold pressure sensor, so you can use your BOV feed for that im pretty sure, thats what i did for my gauge. nipple i the middle one goes to the compressor side of the hose and nipple O goes to the waste gate. so this is the line you cut. the other line out of the rear of the waste gate like i said you block both ends to disable the factory boost controller.
