no "clicker", no blinkers....
Try turning your hazards on and off, sometimes when the hazard switch is "half" on, it can cause the blinkers to mis behave (though I have never heard of what you are describing)..
Hi,
My family car (2000 camry wagon) has a problem with its indicator. It keeps clicking after the indicator has been turned off, at double the speed! (just like when you have a globe out)
Rather than dicking around trying to find a short etc I would prefer to kill the clicker all together.
So, is the clicker located behind the instrumant panel? or is it located somewhere else?
Thanks!
PS all fuses and globes have been checked.

ah shiz, thanks. I will check out the hazards.
So, what makes the clicking sound? a relay?
the indicator relay is under the dash and is what makes the clicking noise as it turns the indicators on and off. When you cancel the indicators and the 'clicker' works double time, can you verify that the indicator lamps aren't actually flashing as well?
Well I can confirm that the dash arrows do not illuminate when the clicker is going off double time. Not sure if the actual lamps are flashing, will check.
so basically this clicking starts with the ignition on and after you've used the indicator? Does it ever stop on its own accord or keep going until you turn the ignition off again? I'm thinking it could be a faulty indicator relay perhaps. Try find one from another Toyota to swap in and see if it still does it.
The worst type of fault: Intermittent!
Does not start at start-up, only about every second or third time the indicator is used. You can sometimes cancel it by flicking the indicator back on/off for a second and its gone!
Some newer cars will have the clicker in the indicator stalk assembly already. Sounds like it could be a faulty switch also.
