Default Weber questions and fuel economy??

    So back to my webers..

these things are a pain to tune..
so i've rebuilt an 18rg with low compression pistons 18rc ones
    twin 45mm webers

    So my problem:
i first got the car registered, put about 45l of fuel in her tank, took her for a drive, 250km later its empty..
obviously this isnt right.. and i dont want them coming to my door when i've used all the worlds petrol to go to the shops!
Ok so i had a look at the engine after this and turns out one of the cylinders wasn't firing right, was a way too rich mixture. To fix this i had to let air into the intake manifold through the vacuum ports on the redline manifolds and then retune the mixture and balance them. Currently 2 cylinders are drawing in air through the manifold vacuum ports to get the car running properly. (clearly this is a problem)
ran the car again got about 150km to 30l which is better but im guessin it should be around 10l/100km or lower.
ok to the problems ive found and need advice on.

First fuel pressure sat about 4-4.5psi, bout a new fuel pump to out 1.5-3psi max and will install that monday.

Going to put an electronic dizzy in this week so see if i can get a better spark.

the webers are 45mm DCOE and one is a 152 the other is a 32 i think, they both have 3 progression holes on each port so the should be ok to tune which they have been son far. my question here is if the progression holes on one of the carbies is larger than the other should i drill them out so they are all the same size?

i will check the float levels tomorrow too, so if i let the bowls fill up, take off the top to see the fuel level should i adjust the floats so that both carbies have the same level of fuel with the valve closes? both carbies have different float types so i found measurement for the 32 carbie and adjusted that but havent found the measurement for the 152 so if i set it so it allows the same fuel as the other carbie this would be ok?

ok so on the carbies one of the throats need the vacuum port blocked off on the manifold whereas the other side is blocked. would this mean that the 2 throats on the cabies are drawing in different amount of air? dont now how to fix this because the butterflys are connected and un adjustable, bit stuck here?

finally i think, i did a compression test when she was at normal operating temp, 100-105 psi a pot, aroundabouts anyway. These are lower compression pistons but im pretty sure they need to be up around 120? i'll maybe try a thicker oil if there is wear in the cylinders?

im going to rebuild this engine again with 9.7 compression and fuel injection probably next year but need to get her running without bathing in fuel until then.
    any ideas?

The problem seems to lie with the carbys one is a 152 the other is a 32. They are different carbys, they might be 45 DCOE's but they are different.
You have to get 2 carbys with the same matching numbers otherwise you will be chasing your arse trying to get them to work.

i wish i knew.. i bout the engine, car like this. the webers were never run on the rg thats why they arent tuned properly but quite sure the webers were run together on another engine and have been able to get them to work pretty well together. all my plugs come out the same colour so i would assume they are runnin the same, but somewhere my fuel is just running away

I googled the 152 carby and found a site with pdf sheets of info including float level. http://www.racetep.com/weber/45DCOE152.pdf
    Try that for info.
Also the 152 has three progression holes as said, from what i remember the 32 series has 2 progression holes which will effect the way it runs down low and effect fuel economy.
