Default help asap with cut/crimped hoses

    hey guys,

the guys i got my engine from looks like he pretty much hacked every hose until he go the engine free.

now I have a 1.5jzgte and the fuel hose from the dampener and also the power steering hose have these wierd crimp things on them.

are there any ways to remove the cut hose inside and replace them and then just recrimp them.

sorry for the bad quality of photo but you still understand.

    cheers

Cut away the crimp & hose, don't F'up the barbed tubing with nicks & gouges, and use a hose clamp in its place, wire the clamp onto the left over bit of the crimp to assure it won't pop off.
The fuel is low pressure but flammable & the other is very high pressure, so really, I'd see a hydraulic place about them if factory/OEM isn't quickly/inexpensively available.

Generally if I'm replacing hoses like that, I'll remove the metal section completely and use some sort of adaptor for a speedflow fitting or similar. Depending on the fluid/pressure its running, you could just cut off the crimped section and use a hose clamp to secure it. However its not a great way of doing it, and you'd probably want to try and flare the end a bit.
I've never known a way to remove the crimp and reuse it. That doesn't mean its not possible though.

like allen said cut away the outisde bit but dont go to far as there is a barbed fitting inside
and for extra safety use 2 good quality hose clamps on there

you'll need a new power-steer high pressure line - the pressure they run at will far exceed the clamping pressure from a bunch of clamps.

These crimps are a once only deal and not designed to be removed and/or reused. As Chuck says these, particularly in the power steering are designed to hold over 1000psi or so when in operation which is far more than any hose clamp is designed for.
Do it right and have new lines made.

Pirtec or some other sort of hydraulic hose repairer will fix them for you, they will use a compression join around the steel pipe and screw a fitting into that that will except the hose or braze on a fitting to except the hose. Get it done right and get it done once, however expensive it may be. Find a smaller business to do it if possible and they will be a lot cheaper

the hydraulic hose places are cheap for putting on new line and crimping.. thats what they do every day.....
just work out how long you need first

if you are worried abotu cutting old crimp off without damaging the fitting.. get them to remove it for you also.... thats what they do every day
