Are these the fuses in cabin?
Gidday,
Some electrical genius has put some electrical wire (from his house wiring I figure) in place of the two fusible links that should be in the wiring to the battery on my 18rc.
Does anyone (hoping) still have the wire fuse links in place or has converted to new style plug in links and can tell me what values these two should be. I am changing the alternator to a ea Falcon 85 amp so I can use a 100amp fuse for the battery side but don't know what value the other link should be.
Interweb, manuals, owner's manual all just say 'fusible link' but don't give the values.
Any assistance would be helpful,
Cheers.
Are these the fuses in cabin?
Hey DaveSpec,
No, these are the fuses that are usually in the engine bay near the battery. One of these links is for the battery line from the alternator and the other is for the other electics to avoid them being fried if the amps from the battery go too high. On my hilux they used to be two differnt size cables that basically melt when the amps go too high.
cheers,
