    Default 4AGZE AW11 shafts

Quick question here, for the E51 in the AW11 is it still impossible to get shafts and what are the differences?
I know for any other car its simply a case of handing over $180 a side and you get reco ones but I think its no so for the E51 AW11.

    Any pointers?

try CV joint Aust Pty Ltd in Auburn or A and L driveshafts in Campsie.

I've delt with both these guys (they are the e-bay traders for driveshafts) and both are very good and will find something that fits.

NFI about availability - should be able to just take a shaft into a CV joint though and at worst they ought to be able to cut something down to suit off a V6 camry or whatever I would assume...

As for differences; there ARE different driveshafts depending on whether the gearbox is open diff or has a factory viscous LSD. The ones with the viscous LSD will have a longer set of splines on one of the shafts to drive the LSD, and might also be a slightly different thickness iirc??? (maybe not, memory is fuzzy.. do a search..)

gearboxes fitted with a mechanical LSD (TRD, Cusco, KAAZ etc clutchpack style diffs) use the "open diff" driveshafts.

I've been told auto shafts are different again, but not 100% sure whether that is true or BS. I have a set of auto shafts here at home but havent bothered measuring them to compare to manual shafts

    Nobody has them
Nobody will make them unless you go custom

Seems most import engines come with oxy cut shafts, stupid, because to buy replacements will set you back $$$

I have a set of 4AGZE drive shafts spare.
If you have measurements of the splines on yours, I'll see if they match.
