No IDL signal, NSW signal (neutral start switch), or A/C signal to ecu.

hi guys... done a Google search, but can't seem to get a straight answer...
1990 Toyota Camry running 3SGE motor, spitting out Toyota Error code 51 : Switch Signal
Can anyone elaborate on the above ?
causing rough/low idle, which seems to be the symptoms with consistent with this error code, but I have no idea what to check/fix/replace
Hopefully some Toyota heads here can give me some details on how to get the Camry running right again.
Cheers
Damo

his is manual, and nsw would be for auto only i'd think.
if you need another TPS let me know, alt, ahve you adjust the throttle stop recently, this can put the tps out so it doesn't go into idle mode
In manuals NSW connects to clutch switch. (If it has one). (note, it may not connect directly to clutch switch but through a relay)

Hey Jonothan - this is for a mates Camry, and it is Auto
would have thought if it was NSW though, the car would not start at all. So that possibly dismisses that one.
He has had the rear main seal done and distributor replaced recently by his local mechanic. Since then, the problem running the car has occured, and the mechanic says its not their problem(they are used to dealing with BMW's and high end Merc's... so a 1990 Camry they aren't really interested in I guess)
Hoping I can get it fixed for him cheaply and easily.
they also broke his engine coolant temp sensor which I will need to find a replacement from a wrecking 3S motor (Jonothan??) but thats an easy fix at least.
So I'm thinking TPS - but have no idea how to adjust it, or reset it to normal. I am teh mechanix basicz. Please explain...

Just reading through your last post and you said they did the rear main. I would also check the ISC valve could be stuck and due to having the battery disconnected it can't relearn causing the low idle.
The code 51 will normally only come on when the a/c is turned on while having the check wire connected.
Cheers Craig
