Nah, after 250m it's of little consequence not a disadvantage. Up to 250m it's a clear advantage.
A 9 sec RWD Capri getting done by a mid 10 sec AWD car illustrates my point perfectly.
I'm not saying drop ET entirely but the point IS top speed. All the big guns are there to crack 300kph, not 20 seconds.
A blend might be a reasonable compromise where your position reflects both ET and top speed? A slight weighting for speed and results would be a better reflection of performance for this distance.
As for dollars, of course it's Motorsport so $$$ always wins in the end. That diesn't mean you can't have a well thought out, built and budget racer to give the big guns a nudge thoughhow many Lambos did the trade ute beat?
