The first update in a while! The charitable Peter Costello dropped by to help get the ball rolling, bringing with him the engine hoist that will very soon be lifting the engine and gearbox back into the car.
The engine, flywheel, clutch and gearbox is all assembled and I ended up going with my ST162 clutch and pressure plate and an SW20 flywheel. I sourced ST184 clutch parts because it was rumoured that they were slightly larger and would suit the 2nd gen 3S-GE better, providing better grab. However, a session with the tape measure deduced that both clutch and pressure plate were the same size and the ST162 clutch was "a poof-teenth" heavier than the ST184 item.
The MR2 coolant return and temperature housing has been swapped over for an ST185 item, which points everything back in the right direction. I'll update with some photos of that process shortly. With the right know how, the process will save a lot of work later.
A few service tasks were carried out on the car; new fuel and oil filters fitted (peice of cake with the engine out) and a new set of spark plugs that will go in shortly.
Next tasks!

It turns out my rear engine mount is shagged; looking at my options for the cheapest way to replace it.
