    ah not bourbon

Does that mean x2 bonnet pins won't cut it? back to the dodgy strap system as well i guess

My take on it has been:

Stock latching is fine, as it has 2 retention points, certainly have never been rejected from events for that.

I would also think 2 bonnet pins would be 2 retention points as well.

Whens the next one after April?

Mine goes through with just the factory bonnet latches Phil, they clarified it early on that as Roundy noted the factory setup with the two release mechanisms is adequate.

A love of bourbon is the one thing you do share with the drifters J

2 Bonnet pins is DEFINITELY ok, since there's almost no chance of both failing at the same time (but definitely chance of both being left undone, as I learnt the hard way some years ago with the T18 )

Thanks Nathan/Shano for clarifying the stock setup. I remember you hooking up an extra strap ages ago on the rolla shano, so wasn't sure. Good news for me, as the only thing to add to the Poopra is an extinguisher then. Just gotta work out where to mount it.....

    Cheers

I ran that extra strap when we started and then got told by the scrutineers it wasn't necessary. Then I fitted that additional wire restraint for that 6 hour we did and haven't needed it since.

Phil, you've got this all wrong......
I dont own jeans, I always finish my bourbon, and my tyres arn't used. They have only been on the car for 6 months, so they are pretty much new.....

Off topic, but maybe on topic, i'm not sure now after the way this discussion has gone......... has anybody tried to get through scrutineering at the hillclimb without an added bonnet restraint? Regs say 2 methods of bonnet retention right....... So the factory setup whereby you have to both pull the cable, and then release the spring loaded catch separately to lift the bonnet "should" be sufficient right?

    - Want to change diff setup mainly.....
    - Surgetank/lines leaking fuel somewhere. Sounds easy, but it's a pain in the ass to get to. (have to remove tank to get to it).
    - Need to replace turbo -> manifold gasket after wakefield last monday. Once again, it's a bastard of a job...

Doesn't sound like too much, but I have alot going on at the moment....

Also considering what to do with the two 86's now. The blue one seems a bit too good to drift it, so the gold one might become the dedicated drifter. Got some decisions to make...

Now, Justen just has to keep his end of the deal, and make sure the GT8 is up to standard for me to drive for the day.....
