No ones even had a go?
Hey guys, had a peice of intake slag go thru my turbo and bent my fins, shaft still has no play and spins free as a bird, I swear you wouldn't be able to tell unless you took the exhaust housing off
I've seen the rear exhaust wheel/shaft on ebay for $150, wondering if its as simple as installing it and getting it balanced? The guy at mtq seems to think it is, he sez that only garrett oz doesn't sell garrett parts?
No ones even had a go?
i would've thought you'd want to fit a new bearing pack and seals as part of the rebuild.
i know mtq will supply a new turbine etc if required when rebuilding a damaged turbo, but i guess they won't sell you the parts only? having said that, when i got a quote to rebuild my gt35r the new shaft/turbine added $300odd
have you tried performanz turbo's in welshpool?
Personally, I would just stick a new turbine wheel on with a balance and chuck a seal kit through it if the bearing clearances and wear checked ok.
As for sourcing parts, I don't have a clue...
Ill just buy parts from the net, fit them and get it balanced, its basically a new turbo
It's real easy, man. You just take the housings off then you undo the main nut backwards. by that I mean it's left hand thread so you set your ratchet to "tighten", hold the exhaust side and spin it off. Then you just pull the comp wheel off, pull the exhaust shaft through and reverse the process.
Thanks that exactly the answer I was after, was hoping I could do it without special tools or procedures etc
