Default 1jzge engine into cressida mx83

hey toymodders, should be buying a 1jzge engine package, and be looking to put in my mx83 cressida, will it be as straight forward as the 1jzgte conversions, ?? cheers in advance.
    : jzx81 engine mounts.
    : change loom and ECU
: auto box straight on ?

most of the time its easy
think u need to run thermo fans or hydaulic fan if u get it
if u change loom u need to change whole engine and dash loom and alternator loom
or if u know how to wire u can wire new loom in
u might need to swap throttle cable over and afew fiddly things to do

things that are usefull from a frontcut are the throttle cable, powersteering lines and resivour, charcoal cannister, other misc hoses and brackets, aircon lines and condensor to suit FMIC, etc etc.

Always easier with a frontcut, but finding a good cut can be difficult with how old the engines are now.

    with n/a 1jz, I'd recommend :
    -go vvti
-be sure to use 1jz intake resonator and factory 1jz air filter if possible
-don't use exhaust pipe bigger than 2.5". Use 2 x 1.7" pipes down extractor, try to make their length equal to that of stock pipes (the ones between extractor and Y-part).
this will bring you some low end this engine generally lacks
best thing you can do to 1jz is put a manual behind it or find late 90's version with 5-speed auto, and use 4.1 diff ratio.

As for front-cut , you don't actually need too much out of it. It's desirable to have all mating connectors that stick to engine loom so you can make your loom somewhere at home. There's really very few wires to make it run, some ten or so.

JP no need for condensor for FMIC its NA.
george, have you done one before ?? few questions
why use standard air filter ?
and that exhaust set up will bring the most power will it ??
what can i find a 4.1 diff out of ??
    appreciate it heaps fellas.

1jz-chriseda - see my signature :-) Do em every month
Filter stuff. Resonator is more important. Affects low and mid range. Also makes quieter sound, not so dull and boring as well. I mentioned filter only because it mates well with resonator part.

The exhaust I described would bring most low and mid torque while maybe sacrificing a bit of top end power because of 1.7" part. I can show you pictures of my current setup as muffler and resonator are also important as I now understand.

Sorry can't name source for 4.1diff for your particular car. I use complete rear axle taken from volvo 940 and detroit truetrack lsd.

Doesnt the 7M make more power than the 1jzge, assumimg the 7M was freshened up?

This is just my opinion but i would personally spend the money on the 7M, it will have way more torque than a 1jzge any given day.

How much is the front cut costing you any way?

Are those prices for the parts
U might as well add another 2 to 3 grand on other sheit as well
Depending how much u can do yourself
I did my conversion years ago and still cost me close to 3 grand and I did nearly everything
And got motor for free as well

Fair enough if you are getting the stuff at low ball price than why not.

neal, the answer is no way. 7m-ge has maximal rating (best across all production years) of 204 hp @ 6000 rpm and 265 Nm @ 4800. 1jz-ge vvti is always 200hp@6000 and 255Nm@4000, so it has equal or more bottom end. It also has better newer ECU and smoother transmission (sometimes even 5-speed)

1jz-chriseda there're resonators both on the intake (Helmholtz chamber) and in the exhaust system. Terminology may differ. When I say "resonator" I mean special kind of muffler designed so as to dissipate low frequency energy most of all, this is done by splitting volume into one or more resonant chambers connected to each other via specially designed venturi.

Pictures. I'm too lazy to give separate links to each one, so...just look at the pictures and nevermind the text :-)
Part 1 - no resonator yet

Part 2 - installed resonator (2nd muffler) and put thermal shield on downpipe
