if I may........ why 4 dowels... when 2 will do. also 2 will allow you to make dowel holes in another area for say a Honda head... thus allowing your jig to accomodate more then one head....
Hi guys,
I am making a jig up today at work and forgot to grab the measurements I needed last night.
Does anyone know the correct measurement of the distance between the head bolt holes on the 4A blocks? center to center, etc
Also, does anyone know the head bolt hole diameters in the cylinder head? (so that I can make up dowels to sit the head on)
I am making a jig that secures the cylinder head to my flow bench and want to put 4 dowels in there to locate the head correctly.
I will also try online to get some useful information, but all searches I have done so far this morning have given me no joy.
Cheers
Dan

I have a smallport head gasket lying around at home. If you haven't got the dimensions yet, will measure it to you after work today.
no probs, I will grab the dimensions tonight at home. Just thought someone might know them for today. No biggy. :-)

I just used a head gasket. What I did was after the bore adapter was fitted, I slipped a compression ring on a piston, let the piston slip into the bore adapter, then I fitted the gasket over the top of the piston, aligned it, and then marked the headbolt holes to place the dowels.![]()
