X83/1 Vs X73 Power steering rack. and What are these plugs? X81 1JZ

Alright 1st question is easy went to the wreckers but could not find any X83 or X81 there.

What has the quicker lock to lock ratio. Guys in the USA seem to think the X7 does but all the info i read on the rack is saying X83 is faster and since my rack is out of the Car is there any x81 guys out there with PPS that can tell me what there lock to lock ratio is.


and 2nd question is it ok to remove the wire/plug from the engine loom for the hydro/water pump?

the main one. and what are the other two plugs for you can see in the picture? (should add the main plug is not shown but joins to the item with the blue sticker on it)





What is this plug on the bottom of the radiator for? is this coolent temp for the stock temp gauge in the car?

The radiator one is the temp sensor for the hydrofan. The other temps sensors (gauge and ECU water temp) are located in the alloy neck that leads to the top radiator hose, which i believe are the ones you are showing in the top photo. Single pin is the gauge and the other will be the ECU one (which isnt stock as that normally has a green plug).

You can remove the wire/plug if you dont have the hydro water pump. I am doing it on mine, and will be taking out the whole thing (Hydro ECU and all wiring) as well.

Yeah i have a non hydro pump now. that i will be fitting. that is why i asked. and the radiator one i guess i dont have to wire up anymore. and the other plug would be new as that is for the autronic.

Now just need to figure out the lock factor as the PPS wiring im working out but if the x7 has a quicker lock to lock ratio i will just use that rack and remove PPS all together.

Does no one own a x73 anymore? i just need someone to go out to there car and turn lock to lock and tell me how many turns been told the x7 is quicker lock to lock then x8 so while im rebuilding thought i would look into it,.
