I have searched through other threads and as I say +20 seems about right-ish but would like a second opinion.

				 RA23 wheel offset
 RA23 wheel offset
				Hi all,
I am looking at a set of 15 x 7 wheels with a +20 offset. Seems about right, what would be the consensus on that offset?
Thanks
Kev

 Re: RA23 wheel offset
				Kev
I run 15x7 wheels with a zero offset, 205/50/15 tyres on my RA23.
The fronts are right on the edge of legality as far as hanging out of the guard. Rears sit nicely inside, with some rubbing some where up in the arch when the car has me, my partner and some holiday luggage on board.
I would say a +20 would be a good fit on the front, giving a little bit of clearance, but might tuck the wheels in too far on the rear. But you won't have outside clearance issues on either end, and I am guessing you should still have clearance on the inside edge too.

 Re: RA23 wheel offset
May want to check your clearance on the fronts. +10 on a 7" rim is about the max you can go on a TA22 without catching on something important. I had a set of +17 7" rims on a '73 Celica, and the fronts needed a 7ml spacer to fit. Fit on the rears was spot on. RA23 may be a bit more forgiving - I'm not sure.

 Re: RA23 wheel offset
I'm running 16x7 +24 on my RA23 with KE70 R&P and MX13 Diff - this setup widens front and rear track by about 40mm each end.
So with my suspension, +24 just fits in under my rolled guards front and rear with enough clearance not to scrape or rub. This is with 205/50 tyres.
Before conversion with the old track widths, there was plenty of clearance all round.
So you should be right with those ones, however as always test if you can.
And make sure you physically measure the offset if you can before purchase, especially if its not stamped. I've had a few cases when the seller has reported an incorrect offset.

Ive spoken to the seller and he reckons a + 25 will do the trick

 Re: RA23 wheel offset
I would be measuring it up befor you get them.
I'm running 17x7 offset of 24mm on the front of a RA23 BUT my brake set up pushed the track out 5mm each side, allowing me to go that offset.
They are running very very close to the strut, and I can only get 205s on the rims because of the clearance

 Re: RA23 wheel offset
a friend of mine down here runs the 15x7 performance challengers the offset is stamped as 8P and they sit nicely with 205/50s on the celica (ta22). Doesnt get looked at by the boys in blue and also looks trick - so I guess in a 7 inch wheel between 0 and +15 is ideal - More + offset or wheel width would start to get close to the strut

 Re: RA23 wheel offset
What sort of offset would be required to have 15x8s in the rear?
 Re: RA23 wheel offset
 Re: RA23 wheel offset
Ive got Simmons B45's with 15x8's on the front 225x50x15s +20 offset and 15x9 on rear 245x50x15 + 25. but mine is ra28, which can take wider rear wheels.
my previous RA28, R.I.P is here.

I'm not aware of anyone who has managed 245's on a 23, without body modifications.

 Re: RA23 wheel offset
It's down to what tires you can get. 15's are getting harder to buy, I went from 14's for the same reason but I don't want any bigger than 15 as it just doesn't look right.
