i think you really need to work out what the car will be used for and a power goal that you think the car will make? i had a npc single plate button (5puk) in my cressida (2j/r154) and it held 450rwhp easy as a daily and was a good clutch on the street. just drove like a standed car. only trouble i had was when i went to a drag strip and was raping it of the hole it would get hot a rip of the pucks off or heat up and stick to the flywheel which would lock it in gear other wise on the street i could do clutch kicks and skids and would never slip. since then im making over 500rwhp now and have gone a npc twin plate to race abit more and hold the power better. all though im sure i could use it as a daily as its still drives pretty easy i would not like to drive a round with a twin plate all the time. so just work out your goal and go from there.

Steve, I had a JZX81 half cut that had been converted to 2j manual in Japan so i swaped everything out of the half cut with the exception of the brake master which they had modified with a hammer ,I used a gx81 curtesy of big zop. my pedals and master are gx81, I bought a new JZA80 master and slave and only used the slave so I have a second hand slave and a brand new master cylinder if you dont find a complete set. the pedals are a bolt in and obviously set up perfectly as i assume does the line from master to slave.
    Cheers Greg.

if you cant find gx81 pedals etc some guys are using ra65 celica clutch pedal that bolt in. (under the dash where it bolts up you will need to space it aprox 20-30mm) and you can use a landcruiser master (part number jb1706) you will need to drill out one hole as it has a smaller hole then the cressida and shorten the pushrod a little bit to clear the pedal where it bolts together inside the car. very easy to do and will give you more throw then most other masters. toyotacressida.net has all these questions in one thread if you want to find more info? hope this helps

    ae92 pedal/box/master

usually cost about $30 all up from a wrecker and requires 3/5ths of bugger all modification to get it in

i did a conversion for someone recently and didnt even bother with the ma61 gear he supplied, the rolla stuff is just too easy so i went with that instead.
