haltechs and toyotas do not go together to well
i know the older ones didnt like mag sensors so u had to run
    reluctor interface
new sport and sprints might be better now they are totally new ecu
anyway get a bucket fill ti with water and throw the e8 in
its nearly as bad as the good old haltech f7

have u hooked up a laptop to see if yr getting correct rpm
also try swapping the sensor wires over maybe u have sensor hooked up backwards
as in neg to pos and pos to neg on the sensor
if u do want to persist with it maybe try a reluctor interface or atleast speak to haltech
but be prepared to waste alot of time on and off fiddling with stuff
but most tuners u speak to say same thing bout old haltechs and toyota reluctor sensors

i just used 2nz (toyota yaris/ echo) coils in my 2jz. $20 each built in ignitor, coil over plug and i made 523 with 23psi and no spark blowout what so ever. i have heard of other guys running 25-30 with them. worth it to me unless your chasing big hp and big psi?

    DumbAss is correct.

I fought for ages with the 1g-gte and the Haltech IG5. In the end I had a hall effect switch knocked up to go in the dizzy, 6 teeth and a home tooth, then it worked a treat!!!

    So, basically your options are:

    1) E8, 1uz standard magnetic triggers, Haltech Reluctor Adapter. This will turn the Magnetic triggers into Hall effect triggers which will make it around the engine bay nicely, however they are still prone to noise. Can be setup - I did it once upon a time.

    2) E8, custom hall effect triggers. I had this running on my 1uz with the IG5 for a while, worked fine. I can show you photos of my setup, and I can get the parts made up for you from the guys who made them up for me. They are very fancy bits of kit, and a bit on the pricey side but absolutely f'ing bullet proof.

    3) Ditch the E8 and get a Sprint XXX. I'm using a Sprint 500, and it picked up the magnetic sensors no problem at all. Infact did it so well that I had it turned onto Hall effect triggers rather than magnetic and it STILL worked!. I would highly recommend the new range of Haltech ECU's, they are very good. I happen to have running on mine now, the Sprint 500, with my aftermarket custom hall effect triggers and it's infallible.

That's the way I see your options.

    Prices roughly:

Sprint 500 ~ $1k + some sensors (sensors are usually cheap)
Aftermarket Hall Effect Switches - $500ish
Relucator Adapter - $200 and a WORLD of headaches.
