Good to knowWiring isn't something I've really played with at all, but if I can get some adult supervision I might have to give it a crack.
I did try this for a while with my twincharged MR2.
For potentially a few reasons it had some drivability issues.
I had had the AFM apart and may not have put it back together properly and I wasn't convinced the TPS was functioning properly. Given the TPS is a big feature in the AFM 4AGZE's load sensing (years ago I had modified the AFM signal (Jaycar DFA) to work well with a bigger AFM body (same electronics). I could get the engine to run well with excellent drivability but could not change high load AFR's by bending the AFM signal). That was a bigger AFM body that I used in the original (just supercharged) and first incarnation of the twincharged set up, both pre turbo or SC.
1 thing I did do was to take the inlet air temperature sensor out and put it in the pre turbo plumbing. That way it would continue to see ambient temperature rather than turbo heated air that could have the computer unnecessarily retard ignition timing because the it thinks it's a really hot day.
Not really helpful, but at the end of the day I just went programmable to eliminate variables.
BTW, most square to round AFM pod filter adapters are rubbish. The ones I have seen all had bits of pipe welded to a plat with a square hole. None had any sort of proper transition from square to round.
