    Default oil return line on 7mgte

    hey guys, just wondering if anybody could help me out with a way to remove the oil return line on the 7mgte, just im replacing the head gasket on it and this is whats holding me up. Trying to get to these bolts is starting to piss me off any help would be great, thanks josh v

    Yeah the turbo bolts are a pita too remove , a 12mm socket and a 17mm socket will remove the turbo oil pipe, its all in 1 peice ie, oil supply and drain pipes.
    best to unbolt the nuts from the block pipes only and remove the turbo together with the pipes.

    thats what I do

    unbolt the pressure supply line and the return from the block and pull it all away in one big hit, there would be no way in hell you get get the lines off the bottom of the turbo with it in the car.

    With the right combination of universal socket, wobble extensions and universal joint, it is quite possible to do in the car.

    The socket that worked for me was a 12 mm SK non-impact flex, bought it to match one my co-worker had.

    Keep in mind that socket designs change over the years, so no guarantees that a current version would do the job.

    A real PITA though!

    And when you get it all off make sure you replace the gasket between the oil pipe and turbo. as stitt said very hard to do while its in the car.
