    Default Apexi mechanical Gauges and Apexi System Control Unit

    Got a Question about the Mechanical Gauges from the Apexi El2 Range I cannot find info anywhere about them.

    1. Can they be plugged into the System Control Unit or are they Completely Standalone Units.
    2. If they can be plugged into the System Control Unit can you get the Recall Function working on them.

    Looking at getting some the Mechanical Gauges for Oil Pressure , Oil Temp and Water Temp to start with and wanting to know if they can be plugged into the control Unit or not.
    All of these gauges (Mechanical Range that I have seen pictures off have all got the actual Mechanical Part mounted Directly to the motor then from there only wires to the Gauge.)

    and all the Docs on the Apexi Website say the EL II gauges (not sure if completely different to the EL2 Range) work on the Control Unit and there is no info at all on the Mechanical Gauges except Boost Gauges.

    If anyone has a Mechanical Gauge and can Answer this it would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

    Ringo

    I don't know abt Apexi ... But Mechanical Gauges you can't or don't need to connect to the control unit . THEY ARE MECHANICAL so no electronic control. and Completely Standalone Units.

    and i think Apexi El2 means Electronic, i don't think any of Japanese brands make Mechanical gauges any more.

    i got omori mec gauges.

    there are few things you have to consider before you buy mec gauges, specially second hand ;
    they all filled with Ether so to repair them even change the illumination bulb you have to open the gauge then re -fill with Ether again this will cost you around 100-150; so make sure when you purchase all the gauges are working fine , including illumination.
    there's only 2 wires coming out form most of the mec gauges there for 12v and ground.

    water temp is easy to install but oil temp and pressure probes won't fit into sandwich plates like greddy , what i did for oil temp was, drill the sump and put the probe there; for oil pressure you have to remove oem sender unit and directly connect gauge int there.

    so i think this will help.
