w58 rebuild question

Good morning , has any one here any knowledge of disassembling a w58 without the "special tools" -5the gear remover/installer09312-20012 & puller 09950-40011 ? I'm trying to change all my bearings, car was flooded, have the transmission down to just the shafts and the center steel section-tryed an improvised puller on pulling the 5th gear and bearing and knocked the tiniest portion of the inside of 2 teeth on 5th and stopped- any suggestions ? Do you guys actually get these down to the bare bones without 3k in SST 's ? thanks.

i sent mine to a shop, $750 later it was rebuilt.
