    Default calling all 4AGTE owners

    Hey guys,

I'm getting quoted some prices on some bits and pieces for a, ae92 4AGZE swap to turbo.

I've got a GT2871R to go in, but i need to know some lengths of the oil and water lines, also what size fittings to tap into the motor and the turbo. I'm unsure if a FWD setup will have different length supply lines but thought i'd mention it, just in case

Also just a general question, my 4AGZE has stock oil cooler, i'd like to put a larger one in, i assume its not a real issue to tap into the stock hoses and attach a larger cooler off the existing hoses ?

Thanks heaps for your help guys

length on lines etc you normally work out after you have dummy fitted the turbo so then you can get the measurements for it yourself and it can be spot on.

When i changed to a after market oil cooler i bought a full oil filter relocation kit and cooler, was very easy to fit and would say its easier then tapping into stock lines. But dont buy the cheap shit chinese kits as they tend to leak.

    ^ yep as said.

if i were you id do what ben and my self did and get a relocation oil filter kit with the oil cooler lines (i dont run an oil cooler) my filter is just under the turbo bolted to the block.

old pic, but oil filter is in the same place.

Cheers guys, thanks for the reply. Only reason i wanted to try and get a specific length before hand was i was going to order few bits from Bazda which come from NZ and avoid postage, but maybe i'll have to do it properly and measure it all out and get it all made up here..

So with the relocation kit, i assume i can remove the stock sandwich plate and replace it with the aftermarket setup.
Sorry if i seem a bit uneducated about it, but i'm learning and once i do it once, makes sense!

yep, screw on the relocation housing as you would on an oil filter and find a place for the aftermarket filter block, then run ya oil lines for the cooler from there.

so is it possible to remove the stock sandwich plate and replace it with hte aftermarket unit ? or do i have to plug up the stock sandwich plate and another one on there.. Otherwise couldnt i use the stock sandwich plate with aftermarket hoses ? Or could they be different size fittings ? from stock and aftermarket unit, hence why you suggest use the aftermarket sandwich plate.

How can you tell a decent oil cooler/relocation kit to a crappy one?

yeh if you wanted to, but changing that filter when a turbo is in the way is gonna get old real fast.

you will also need to get a union bolt from a non oil sandwich plate block, as the oil sandwich plate version is too short once you remove said sandwich plate.

and yes dummy fit and then order the lines, no two turbo setups are identical, and you dont want to be buying those lines more than once. they cost a lot...

yeah i definately want to fit aftermarket cooler and oil relocation kit, im just trying to work out wether i should keep the stock sandwich plate and get lines and attach to that. Or if you can remove the stock sandwich plate, fit up a new one and the lines and all will connect up. I assume thats why you wouldnt use the stock sandwich plate cause the hoses wont connect up ?

alright cool thanks guys, thats good advice on the lines i'll order what i can now and get the other bits later on down the track
