Default what is meant by "Locked ignition"?

i refer to some performance ignition manufacturers and they did mention something on "Locked ignition". what does it mean actually?
if i remove the weights n springs in my distributor to eliminate mechanical advance, and remove the diaphram and weld the vacuum advance plate that mount the ignition pick up, am i having a locked distributor/ignition?

    yeh i spoze
when you turn igntion lock on on an aftermarket ecu's its locks the timing so it cant move at all so you can time your base timing.
i dont have a funny or cool signature.

    yes you are.
its locked ignition timing so that the ignition ecu sets everything off a base time and doesnt get confused by your dizzy advancing itself etc.
depending on engine you may be able to get an electronic dizzy instead of locking the mechanical one.

i'm using a 2TG electronic pick up distributor on my 3TC turbo. i'm not running an aftermarket ignition but will stick with the toyota igniter an a Lucas ignition coil. will that be an ideal choice for a 20psi boosted 3TC with forged pistons? btw, this car will be for racing only and it will not be going on the road as far as i m concerned.

dun remove the weights inside the dizzy instead just weld up the weights on full advance position. If you remove them you'll have unstable readings for your ignition timing. I've a 2tg and did the same dizzy lock to run full ignition control from a Megasquirt ecu. I'll try to get pics if you're interested to have a look. BTW I'd be interested to know more about your 3t turbo setup, sama malaysian mah

and how do you plan to retard the timing?

No, it doesn't. Get yourself something to tune the ignition before all your hard work goes bang.

well actually I dunno of any ms dealer here in m'sia, I bought it from the ms site and build everything myself. Would like to know more how involved it's to build up a turbo running 3T, have you'd experience doing it before? I'm thinking of running a boosted 2tg too and waiting to get more courage to move on with the plan. Do you've any pics you can send me off list?
