Flashing out 1UZ-FE codes on a test light????

OK i have asked this question before, but i'am now needing to do it for real,I have a 93 Hilux 2wd with a 91model Soarer V8 init, I have the engine bay diagnostic plug and wish to flash out any codes, now I've been told to connect a test light between 12v and the W terminal and bridge Te1 and E1 to flash out any codes, BUT what happens when there is no W terminal in the diag plug?????? I've pulled the plug apart just to see if it had been pushed back inside but it doesn't seem to be there, does anybody know the colour of the wire? Or even if someone has tracked this wire back to the ECU and maybe i can connect in there somewhere, Any help would be greatly appreciated, ThanX MICK.

There will be a W pin on the ecu.
You'll need the pinout to find it.

Pin 6 on the single plug. L-Y according to one diagram I have.

From factory it doesn't go to the DIAG box in the engine bay, only the one in the drivers kick panel (which you probably don't have)

I did look at sorting out the internal diag plug but it turned out to be quite a headache, so its still sitting on my shelf(dam) that pin out would def be handy, i've asked the question on the 'ECU Pinouts for people who need them' thread, and hopefully someone has one, did your drawing give you a colour for that wire? The W wire on my internal diag plug is Blue with silver trace dots, Thanks again for the quick reply.

Blue with a yellow trace according to one diagram I have.

SC400/Soarer/UZZ30 pinouts should be all over the web (40P, 40P, 40P plugs)

I concurr and it will be in the diagnostic plug unless it has been removed. Looking at the ECU and it is the plug without the bolt in the middle called E9 you are looking for pin 6 now from the wirie side pin one is the top right and you work your way to the left . Being the computer genius that I am it might pay to drop me a PM with your e-mail addy and I'll send you the factory wiring diagrams and pinouts for it (or burn them to Cd and throw them in the post) as I can't seem to upload the files being that they're rather large, if not huge

No prob those should be right for you as I think it was the 30 that had traction control and the 32 which had active suspension, This is for the 31 with no traction control but airbag suspension. I did all the wiring on mine the hard way by testing and probing then found these diagrams a year later when doing another conversion. Basically I took out a sub on tech info and went downloading for quite a few hours and got in a lot of trouble with the wife as she thought I was looking up "Porn". Ok I was.. "Toyota Porn" not "Tittie porn"
