Default Clutch and flywheel - 3tgteu/w58

    G'day guys,

I'm looking for suggestions on the best clutch and flywheel setup to go with in my TA22, I did read somewhere that the 1g flywheel will bolt onto the 3t crank is this correct? And if so how much bigger is it than the stock 3t?
I plan on using the car essentially on the street but I will want to do a bit of track work and possibly the odd run down the drag strip. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Cheers Josh.

1g and 3tgte flywheel are the same and clutch bolt pattern are thre same (i have both and run both on my 3tc's)
u can get an alloy flywheel for the 3tgte's (i can get the part number off mine) this would be the go, even on a street motor (mine is a daily driver)
but a stock 1g flywheel would be alot cheaper if ur looking at saving money.

as for clutch, any idea what power ur making?

mine on the turbo 3t is running an excedy heavy duty pressure plate with a 5 puck disc (cant remember what car i got it from? i could look it up) it drives fine on the street and cops alot of abuse.

    Thanks for the reply mate,
I've got no specific price limit but it all comes down to an advantage to cost ratio, like if it's double the price and only a slight advantage then it's hard to justify.
I'm currently running about 140kw but plan on pushing that out over 200kw and seeing how much more I can get out of the old girl while keeping it reliable, I was previously running i believe an "extreme" clutch to suit either the 2tc or 3tc but was quite a small diameter and it does slip a bit when punished. If you have any part numbers and know where you got them from it would be a great advantage for me.

    Cheers Josh

    Hi Josh,
That extreme clutch is a little optimistically named...
I had one and it used to cry mercy very quickly!
For street duty with an occasional drag strip burst I am loving my custom NPC (Nicks Performance Clutch) 1000kg organic - cost about $550.

    Cheers,

Thanks again guys, the fidanza flywheel sounds like the go, I just looked up their website and sent an email for a price, i dont suppose their is any dealers of those flywheels in Aus is there? if you can find the part number or what model car the clutch kit was off that would be awesome.

    Cheers Josh

Ye I've found the distributor to be in USA also, flywheel $296 with exchange rate but the postage at $100 is the only thing that is holding me back at the moment, I'll be making a decision within the next day or so whether or not to bite the bullet... Ye cool im hoping to do the upgrade within the next couple of weeks so it will be all go if you can find the details of the clutch for me

Fidanza are sold in Aus by Rocket industries.

I have a bullet proof clutch for your combo that is already set-up on a gen III 1G GTE flywheel (1/4" bigger than the stock 3T GTE one). It was built by race clutch in Qld, uses a Sachs BMW pressure plate, carbonic disc and is rated at 3950lbs. PM me if you're serious about a decent clutch.
    YelloRolla's KE20 1/4mi = 11.32 @ 119mph @ 22psi on slicks
    12.44 @ 113 mph on 165 wide street tyres
210rwkw - not bad for a smelly 3TGTE running pump fuel.

1G-GTE ACT Pressure plate what is stronger and Organic disc for street application !!

200mm ACT (strongest one) keep with organic disc ~400 nm torgue !!

how strong clutch is needed ? Fidanza.. yes

    http://www.dragcars.com/parts/FIDANZ...095798134.html

130381 number. that accept 200mm and 225mm but im not sure if it is 3tgte... some 18RG pressureplate match what was bolted out from 18RG... so cant confirm 100% sure !! but it accept 225mm Toyota Clutch also.. there is bolt holes to 2 different clutch setup !!

    Hi,
Where's the best place to get a replacement clutch for 220rwhp 3tgte? A list of websites/numbers would be great. Currently has what has been described as a cushion button. It seems good but is getting worn. Would be happy to replace it with the same.
