Hi all,
I have a 1985 AE80 Corolla sedan - 4A-C auto. Air conditioning but no power steering.
Wondering if any with the 4A-C motor were fitted with factory power steering?
If not, could any other power steering setup be fitted (thinking 4AGE twin cam AE82 or other perhaps?). Was meant to go to pick-a-part/centre rd wreckers today to look but didn't feel like drowning!
I know they are dog ugly and 4A-C is pretty ordinary motor. But I paid **** all for it, fixed a leaking head gasket, and has done only 160K and good overall condition. Nanna spec! A/C works also! Plus I already have it, and probably will get not much for it.
Needing a cheap car as an interim between selling my current daily and buying a new daily, plus also for my missus if and when she chooses to do so as well.
Thanks in advance.

assembly is just the opposite of disassembly - just you swear in different spots!
Thanks - good to know we did get them.
I'll keep an eye out at the pick-a-part wreckers in the next few weeks.

No difference between the 4ac racks and the twincam racks...Its the hoses / lines + pump which differ.
A good option for a cheap rack is to get an ae101 / ae111 rack from a half cut that someone doesn't want and change the rack ends.
Thanks for the tip on the rack similarities. Does this also translate to the columns, as I have heard O/S that people that have swapped them do have to change the columns also.
I am trying to do it on the cheap - Pick-a-part it will be unless I can find someone wrecking one.
