Wise words Grasshopper. But yeah I agree that in previous years we pretty much had everyone working off what was said on these forums and it hasn't worked like that this year, with the appropriate ensuing grief. Not that this was anyones fault.
The biggest problem you are having is a lack of communication folks.
In previous years the 6 hour was organised through this forum. Most of your team members are not regulars on here this year, so you are effectively having conversations with yourselves.
One of the people who hasn't paid up didn't realise that the cost was $300, not $200. Now given he never comes on here, and there has been no real communication with him officially in any other capacity, I don't think there is any bad intention here.
So same goes for any meetings you organise. You need to email or phone your team mates and get it happening, rather than hoping they read it here. People are not good at mind reading![]()

hi guys
i seem to remember people were told that if interested in the six hour they should look on the toymods / toyota club forums
for updates
nostalgia is not what it used to be:
ok people
all is sorted now so lets not turn it into a shit fight
the last errant payment will be rectified promptly
now all we need to do is find a 6th member for team corolla and we will be fine
otherwise I will have to start persuing more money from the members of that team
we now have managers for all teams and I lied a little with voulenteers names (I'm sure I'm not the first)
(and there are a lot of people use my email address :0) )
I am just waiting now for confirmation of entries and team numbers
once these datails are available I will get timzy to price supply of numbers and any other signage as required
(this is the frustrating part of having to contact people individually)
apart from that and a meeting prior to the event (like the next tcca meeting )
everything should be set to go
so lets get finalised and enjoy the event

Thanks for the info Van,
Do you have my contact detalis? If not email me at [email protected] and i'll PM them to you - so that we can talk all things stickers.
Regards,
Darren.
Speaking of numbers and the like, where is the best place to buy the white squares, tow stickers and all the other stickers I'm going to need for my car?
Also do I need to have my roll cage padded and is there a specific type I have to use?
Same with the secondary bonnet restraints, do i have to have permanently mounted ones or is a cable for the body to the hood latch suffice?
Sorry for being a nuisance.
1970 2M MS55 Crown - Weekend Cruiser.
1970 2R RT40 Corona - Cruising Grandpa Style
1986 20V 4AGE AE82 Corolla - The Brown Racecar.
1988 4AGE AW11 MR2 - Sold but not forgotten
1992 1MZFE SW20 MR2 - Sold Supercharged V6 Monster.
Depends on what side of town you live on. Revolution racegear in Mitcham is a good place for the stickers. Not sure on the padding for the rollcage but Revolution can help with advice and also sell you the right stuff. GMP Racing Products in Huntingdale also have all this stuff as well.
Bonnet restraint can be a tie down / ratchet strap between the bonnet and body. Doesn't have to be permanent.

OK,
So an update -- Quote from Sticker guy are due in by the end of the week.
It consists of 1 driver and 1 passenger door white rectangular stickers 720mm by 360mm 3 digits printed in black, with a 15mm black border, within that dimension. Also fluoro (Day-Glo) yellow windscreen stickers 150mm high - all of these are to CAMS schedule K specifications. There are no variations for different colour cars, etc.
I plan to have a proof for sign off - which I shall bring to club meeting 11th Sep @Emerald.
Then once signed off and payed for they will be manufactured and the plan is to have them with me at the Committee meeting on 25th Sep - where they can be purchased from me for early fitment to your vehicle.
As I am going to have to pay the upfront cost to get them done in one order which will be for a maximum of 18 cars (3 teams) -- I cannot afford $$ to be as lenient as Van has been – regardless of communication mediums. If I'm not payed - no stickers - no raceyI have attached all of my contact details to the bottom of this.
If you want to organise your own – that’s fine.
I’ll be requesting the numbers (and who is in/out for stickers) out of the Team Managers by the 11th Sep. IE finalising at the club meeting. On the 12th Sep I’ll be providing the signed off proof and placing the order.
For those that are not aware the sponser stickers and non-number related stickers are supplied to us from AROCA upon entry on the event Sat. This order is only for printed racing numbers required to do the event.

Darren

Justin ebay is another good source of the battery triangle and tow stickers, though not really as good quality as the ones from Revolution / GMP.
roll cage padding on a non-log booked car is not going to be compulsory, but from a common sense approach, a little bit of the $20 stuff is not going to be a bad addition to the cage around your head and down the intrusion bar next to your leg.
If you want to get really serious you can use some of the dense FIA stuff, but its about $150 per length.
I was just planning on visiting Clark rubber for so cage padding but wasn't sure if there was a requirement or not.
I was hoping to use a bonnet restraint along these lines:

OK.
Quote is in
$35.75 per car for 2 printed door numbers and 1 front window dayglo number.
Is everyone happy with that price? I think it is very reasonable.

Darren.
sound good to me
thanks darren
