Well with 3 full teams lets see if we can have a meeting or some sort of get together to get the ball rolling........7 months to go![]()

first step is to find out who is running in what team,
and with what car ,then go from there

nostalgia is not what it used to be:

Working from memory is dangerous for a bloke with alzheimers isn't it ian?!![]()
Timbo is not planning on running this year, so his name shouldn't be on the list. Unless he has suddenly changed his mind recently.
As I understand it, the people below have said they want to run and I have tried to group them in obvious groups.. though i don't know everyone's car. With 18 names here, you have enough people for 3 teams.
I think more than that is ambitious to organise, as we simply don't get enough volunteers to do the things that need doing during the day.
Team Celica
Graeme celica
Brendan celica
Peter (brendans dad) celica
Ian celica
Joey celica
Team Corolla (currently too many members - so some reshuffling needs to happen)
Frank corolla
Mathew corolla
Brian corolla
Van corolla
Justin corolla
Clifford corolla
Andrew corolla
Colin Corolla
Team Rising Sun and Oddbods
Phil commodore
John escort
Terry commodore
Peter suzuki
Darren nissan
So how many of these cars are close to being ready? Early preparation and a shake down run or three is the key to a stress free 6 hour weekend.
Of course the best way to narrow this list down to the people who really want a run is to call for the $200 deposits to be paid up now
I have to confess that I am not really "feeling it" in terms of being involved this year as team manager. I am probably just going to come up on the Sunday and help out on the timing wall.
Soft!......c'mon Adam.......you know you and the DeTomato just love running around Winton.......as just a suggestion I would try and split the cars up between teams so it's not all Celicas or Rollas....just so we have hopefully have enough runners throughout the day....but then again that's for a group consensus.
Oh and yes my car is ready as usual......where do I sign and who's bank account do I deposit money into![]()

nostalgia is not what it used to be:
Yes Ian - we all might have to "work" on Timbo to get his arse up to the 6hr!It would be wrong not to race that 28. Toyota lingo = Tick!
My old Nissarn is going OK and should've done a few races by then - so I'm confident. I have my eye on a better engine however...
But lets face it - it wouldn't be normal if we were not changing head gaskets and gearboxes the week before
I'm happy to do some organising for the bitsa Team Rising Sun if that is required? There is a vacancy though that could be filled by one black Charade De Tomaso no? Not to get too specific though
I have the deposit ready to go when details arrive.
Darren.
There are 18 spots accounted for, just need to spread the people in Team Corolla about a bit.
Of course money talks, so these numbers will change.
I don't feel its a good idea for TCCAV to be acting as a holding agent for cash.
I have a spare bank account that could be used as a holding account (have the accounts but no money)
that is if people trust me of course
car prep is as normal
mine is ready just have to build the roll cage
Colin's is awaiting a valve grind and will be ready
Cliff's is being built as I type this
Phil's is an unknown
So all is normal for us

hi van

that sounds like a good idea
i suggest we put in $250 each
or say $300 and we can see about getting shirts

nostalgia is not what it used to be:
sure can
bendigo bank 633-000 - 110975018
just comment your name and 6 hour
I think a $200-00 deposit should be enough committment
i will find out from neil to see what the entry is for this year
deposits get messy , full amount or dont run
each year that i have collected deposits i always ended up out of pocket

I'm thinking of coming over from WA to see this event. Would you guys like some help? I can count laps, cook sausages, change diffs and brake pads, and I have a pocket full of cable ties - do I pass the interview? :-)
