Can we get the mods to close and delete all forthcoming Winton 6Hr threads until January next year when we can (possibly) play nice.

Rabbit, if you are serious about that it can be done no worries I can lock them until the January before each event.

Secondly, a few of you need to grow up a bit and just calm down.
This thread has already been cleaned up one and it is being monitored thanks to a vigilent person reporting the crap that was going on in here for no reason.
This isn't a pissing contest here, it's just a notification to be able to prepare yourself for the event next year.
Save your 'banter' for pm or more relevant threads, as far as your pissing contest goes... and as far as any track sessions goes... numbers talk, words can walk...

I reckon its pretty safe to delete those threads altogether. E-peens have been flopped out and sizes compared, now we can all go back to regular programming.

I will note that the 2011 event just completed was the best atmosphere we have ever had in the garage and out on the wall. The two teams worked together as one, helping each other with parts, labour, and advice. The way it should be.

There was no ego and bullshit like we have just witnessed here, and was all the better for it. I really hope we have an even better 2012.

Well said Adam. Both on deleting the threads and that the 2011 event was the best so far as atmosphere and teamwork were concerned. I think the good mix of youngsters and oldies helped with the overall general mood.

My son Steven and I from J&A No Bull Racing have made a decision to not participate in any further 6 Hour Regularity Relays run by AROCA

Good to have met you through here Ian, I now class you as a good friend, you have my email, I have yours, we will talk there.

It's fantastic that J & A No Bull have a team every year - But you're not actually prepared to give us any useful advice, instead we get "I've got a secret, but I'm not telling now", why bother informing us what stage your team is at? For someone who has claimed to have a sense of humour, you sure get bent out of shape when someone has a dig. IMHO this is the obvious behavior of an attention seeking f$ckwit who wishes he owned a Toyota. Too harsh? Too petty? Meh. Just trying to be mature...You f$ckwit.
Nice, and I did to you what?

And good forum moderation as well

Sorry to see you go Trev (others may not be though). Yes there are good and bad aspects of the event but on the whole I think the points mentioned above can be as major or as minor as you or I want them to be.
I certainly believe the wisecrack made at the Sat drivers briefing may not have been that humourous but it was just a throwaway line that would not have been taken seriously by Neil or any person who attended that meeting. Still if it offended you are well within your rights to take umbrage with what was said.
The increase in Alfa teams is neither here nor there as they could essentially run the whole event for Alfa teams only. Personally, all that matters is the full contingent of teams no matter what they drive. I also believe the lack of high horsepower teams is a plus for those who don't want to be looking in their mirrors every 5 seconds waiting to be cut up by a Porsche or Cobra driver who think they own the track. Not to cast generalisations but some of the faster / more organised / cashed up teams seem to believe this is not club level motorsport and play for sheep stations. That's just my take on it however.
Car requirements and scrutineering is another issue that divides opinion. Yes bolts in the fire extinguisher brackets can be overkill but were they that hard to install?. Fire extinguisher use by dates raise the hackles on some people whilst others have no issue. I personally believe this year the scrutineers were very accommodating and may have listened to some of the complaints of being over-zealous from previous years.
Volunteers. Yes we all did our share and some did not but seriously it's not as if the volunteers had to stand out in scorching sun or pouring rain. I'm sure if the masses speak loudly enough on this if this really is an issue then it will be duly noted and hopefully improved on for next year.
Lap counting discrepancies would probably be the least of either Team Corolla or Team Rising Suns issues. The only counting we did was to make sure everyone had enough time on track and had a good day .

As the old adage says "if you don't like it, then do it yourself" it seems you have reached the end of your tether with AROCA and you will look to run your own event or work to make this happen. I hope it all goes well and as I have said before it will be a shame you won't be running next year.

My Charade isnt my daily, but it could well be

I drive there, do the event, and drive home again all in the same car, on the same tyres.

Graham did the same in his TA22, though he changed from road tyres to semi's.

    Easy to do. Drive accordingly.
