Thanks for the laps in the GT8 Justen, I couldn't wipe the grin off for hrs
Actually, I think it was wiped off not too long after... when Finney and I speared off in the gravel trap coming onto the main straight![]()

I don't care how good they got between friday arvo and saturday, i wouldn't have paid $2 to watch the same guys i saw. Actually, that's probably not fair, i did mention several times how much more entertaining beginner/amateur drifting is to spectate rather than the pro stuff, but i did think it was a beginner's school for a while there.
I did get quite excited at a couple of very (slow) near misses with armco while drinking a beer so i guess i got my money's worth. And there were definately a lot of very inexperienced drifters circulating on friday after we finished, saturday may have been a different story.

Who the fuck let you in here??
Good to see the (other) zed out there again; thought it might be a little while after Roundy's effort. It's sounding tough - and yes Mitch was hilarious with his helmet hanging out the targa top.
Like Vito it's amazing how just making the last 15 mins of fun on track can make up for the rest of the day's dissappointment. I got 4 or 5 laps in first thing on the slipperiest track ever before my driveshaft snapped again and it wasn't until 3pm or so i got a replacement to swap in. (Perhaps if i'd asked someone other than Vito they'd have got it 1st visit to the wreckers not 3rd??)
Anyway, i managed to have a little fun in Damo's car during the day and got my last session in as well. Unfortunately the noises coming from my front left hub confirmed there's a good reason i'm snapping shafts and hopefully suggest a straightforward fix. I think i destroyed the bearing housing in the hub when i did the wheel bearing and it's taken two driveshafts for me to realise. The noises coming from there are definately new though! It seemed fine at first - oh and there was that time the driveshaft nut came loose on the old pac just after the shop did the bearing for me that probably didn't help...
I have videos uploading - was hoping they'd be up by now but i found audio sync error notices from youtube last night but haven't had a chance to check them. I'll throw some links up and you can let me know if they're borked.
Anyone who's passengered with me before, this will give you an idea of how slippery it was first thing - my shaft goes mid-turn 10 so i bail into the pit road;

Here's me having a little fun in the 325i - it was a bit of a longer session as there was a bit of traffic early, then i was following some other cars towards the end.

Good work on the photos, made me laugh again seeing Mitch's head hanging out.
Gotta say though, it appears that there were alot more 4wd toyotas there than I thought, I was actually starting tho think that there must have been a rally course down there also. What is with you toyota drivers and staying on the track!
Considering running the wakefield 300 in March - any of you boys play??
