Is this an ra40 gt lsd or not?

Hi Guys,

I am on the search for an LSD for my RA23 and I have been offered what I have been told is an 7.5" LSD rear end from an RA40 GT.

The seller has sent me pics of the 'LSD' centre but to me is looks like an open diff, can you guys confirm or deny my suspicions??.....

Hi Jon. That's definately not an lsd. If you look on ebay, whether in UK or worlwide you'll see the lsd's have a enclosed centre housing due to clutch packs being encased inside.

yep, that is a very open diff.

Yeah that's what I thought! The guy said he'd had it checked out by an ex-Toyota technician and that it was definitely LSD, but the more I looked at the pics I thought, this is a stupid question, it's obviously not an LSD. Glad I asked him for pics of the diff centre before buying now!!
