Hi there all,
I have spent the last few days getting into the wiring on the celica. It has a completely new loom and fuse box setup from ultimate wiring kits.
I have made a pretty decent dent in it, but a couple of switches im just not sure on, and was hoping people here could help.
Firstly - the wiper switch... Here is my switch
Now what i need to hook up are -
Earth
Park
1st speed
2nd speed.
I have no intermittant, but the switch does.
Is the toyota wiper motor earth switched? if so i think the wiring should go...
from left to right, on the front row of wiring
2nd speed - light blue/orange (stripe is hard to see)
Earth - blue/white
park - blue/red
1st speed - blue/black
I think the other 2 wires in the second row are for the intermittant - and would have own earth and signal out???
Next is the idicator switch, which also has the hazards in it -
SO what my wiring is telling me i need -
Hazard in from flasher can
indicators in from flasher can
right front indicator
right rear indicator
left front indicator
left rear indicator
firstly - i think i just need to connect both front and rears from each side together and run them as just left and right.
on my swicth - when the hazards engage - that lever on the right moves outwards and engages all three of the left hand wires together as well as the the green and green/orange.
the ones i think i know.. from the right in the last pic
green/yellow - left indicators
green/white - indicator flasher can in (from the hazard switch? - )
green/black - right indicators
the hazard section im not sure i get though.. continuing right to left we have
green/blue
green
green/orange
in the off position of the hazards blue and green are conected, when on green and green/orange are connected....
so i think.....
hazard can to green/orange
indicator can to gren/blue
join the green to the green/white
and then the 2 indicators...
And lastly the speed sensor....
im assuming toyota 3 wire are power earth and signal.
when i got mine, it had been cut flush with the plug so i had to repin it.
now i think i would have tried to match what i thought were the colours were... but it was so long ago im not sure.
So can anyone tell from the orientation?
I think from left to right
white - signal
black - earth
red - power
Note - these are not the original wires...
Anyway, if any one can offer more information or confirm what i think is the go, that would be great.
Sitting here writing it all has made me think much more clearly and i am pretty sure i have it, but figured i would post it in case it helps anyone else...
Cheers

Hey Wilbo,
Thanks for the reply, as well as your wiki which was a great help wiring the old mans 2j cressy recently
Were you saying all my wiring looks correct or just the speedo sensor?
Cheers

cool...
ANyways for anyone who finds this with a search.... it appears the wiper switch is NOT earth switched, but rather powered - so blue/white wire has power in..... (opposed to earth in as above)
Cheers
