how much roughly does it cost to get a car dyno tuned per hour?, cuz i know it's different depending on the shop and how good they are.

do these piggybackscome with those handsets like ecu's do? or can you plug it into a laptop or something?

how do the cheapo ones effect idle? is it worth getting more revs out of a 1UZ? will they make more power up top?

All piggyback style ecu's have there limitations. Some more than others and if you want to know about the Xede in particular check out there web site. www.xede.com.au Don't worry about where it says "Coming Soon" for the soarer V8. Since we are doing all the R&D for this application we have them available in 24hrs from time of ordering them.

They will not lift a factory rev limit or remove the factory speed cuts on any vehicle. They do not change the commanded idle speed.

Basically they look after the gritty bits Fuel, timing, boost, water sprayers etc.

I am not sure of any recommended Xede tuners in Tasi mate I will have to ask for you. Basically the software is availbe free off the Xede website but to think you will do as good a job as a top level engine tuner is kinda like thinking you can do you own dental work. The end result is only as good as tune that its given and the quality of the parts that you use. No idea on what Tasi's dyno rates are like sorry.

There is always someone who will do the job cheaper but as they saying goes I guess they just realise what there work is worth

As a guide the 2WD dyno rates at SAS are $155 1st hour, $130 each additional hour (Cheaper for finacial club members) That will Vary allot from State to state tho depending on the varying business opperating costs like rent on the premesis. yeah, i wasn't expecting to get an awesome result tuning it myself, i just wanted to know if i could set it up myself then drive it to the dyno to get properly tuned, just to save me a large bag of coin!

Can anyone recommend someone in VIC with experience with 1UZ-FE, who can install and aftermarket ECU, and dyno tune. I have a 1UZ-FE in my car, running standard ECU and manual gear box. Wanting to squeeze a little more out of it without getting to carried away.
