cameron to make it easy for the auto elec gurus post your email address and perhaps the car specific to the ECU and loom you are using ie 92 jzz30 soarer or etc so someone can send you a wiring diagram etc
you will be ok

i have wiring diagrams, im just unsure of what exactly i need to tap into to get the car running.
its all from my jzz30 soarer halfcut. automatic.... but i have now fitted r154
email is [email protected]
thanks again
Check out my wiki. It covers a number of things you should want to know

If you look at the 2JZGTE wiring notes I have, you'll be able to work out what most of the JZZ30 engine ECU pins do, and how you should hook them up

you are a kind man Wilbo!
Looking at your post, and some of the questions you asked, my best advice is to pay someone to do it for you. That way they turn up, you sit by and drink beer and 3-4 hours later your car is running and no more hassles to be had. Though if you start the job yourself and not know what you are doing expect to pay 3-4x what it would have been to start with.
Sideshow will do a great job for you, but he is a moody bugger these days plus a little exy, but you get what you pay for.
ok well i attacked the wiring today!!
its pretty bloody easy stuff, dont know what i was so worried about to start with.. car will be running tomorrow morning so long as i can get a definative answer to this...
one question..
what do i do with the start neutral switch.. ive done numerous searches, and ive read about just earthing it out and also about bridging it.
if i was to bridge it out, what colour wires exactly am i bridging?????
Neutral start switch - 2 wires which go to / from the gearbox, you join them together. Earthing it out will blow a fuse
Also the ecu needs 2 inputs for starting also, otherwise it will run like shit.
2wires which go to/from the gearbox... that isnt really informative to me as there are about 4 plugs full of wires that went to the auto..
im after which exact wires i need to bridge mate..
also ive heard mixed reports on whether you need these 2 inputs, and when i put the 1j in my commodore i dont remember having to do this..
Well do a continuity test between them whilst the car is in Park, take it out of park and into D etc and you won't have continutity. Pretty sure from memory they are black.
Are you talking about engine ECU NSW pin?
OR
The switch that is closed when the automatic transmission is in the Park or Neutral position that allows power to be sent to the starter motor solenoid to turn the starter motor on? (well technically the starter motor relay that then sends power to the starter motor solenoid to turn the starter motor on)
If it's the NSW pin, then I detail that on my wiki.
If it's the Park-Neutral switch, then it should be obvious that if you are using the JZZ30 engine loom wiring to trigger the starter motor solenoid relay in a similar fashion to factory that you will need to bridge the pins that when to the Park-Neutral switch![]()
For example if you look at the below image, the plug E, labeled B35, Pins 5 and 6 would need to be connected (the plug might be different on the JZZ30 loom, but I think from memory it should be the same as shown in the JZA80 2JZGE diagram I link to below)

I hope this makes sense

ok, i have the car cranking over no worries when i turn he key, which mans the start neutral switch is no an issue correct.
i have bridged the black and balck/white wires that go to the gearbox as per a thread i saw for a 2jz.
i have fuel. i have cranking, i just have no power to the coils....
what could i be missing wilbo?
the computer is all plugged in, ignitor pack plugged in. and the soarer battery leads are hooked up. (nothing has been touched on the engine loom)
i have 4 plugs left over that come out next to the 4 computer plugs under the dash.
do i need to do something with these??
Yes. Yes you do.
So I assume that you have only wired up the plugs on the JZZ30 engine loom that are in the engine bay?...
What exactly have you wired up currently?
It's been quite some time since I wired up a JZZ30 1JZ and I didn't take detailed notes when I did it. I also don't have wiring diagrams that are detailed enough to give a point by point guide
My suggestion is to take photos of the JZZ30 plugs you have, that aren't connected, and let us know what you have connected
Cheers
Wilbo
ok ive narrowed this down further.
there is a AM1 100amp fusible link in the toyota fuse box, from what ive researched this i the main ignition fuse, there is a very thick white wire coming from it,with dashes of blue on it, i run around to where it once wouldve gone under the dash on the drivers side into a white 4 wire plug. i don have the halfcut here, so i dont know where it is meant to hook up to....
id say this is my ignition problem.
also a fairly thick white wire with a red stripe from the injector fuse runs around there also into a green 8 wire plug, i dont know where it is supposed to b hooked up to either....
so far i have wired up EFI RELAY, start relay, fuel pump, computer, alternator, alt sensing wire.
thanks again
