how about these ones?
Welcome to Driftmotion!
Hey there,
I've got a 2JZ-GTE that I'm installing in an MX32. I've read the guide on installing JZ engines into an MA61,
just wondering if the engine mounts are the same as on my MX32? Just would like someone to confirm this or not before I get these fabbed up: wilbo666 [licensed for non-commercial use only] / M Series Engine to xJZ Series Engine Conversion Engine Mounts
Toydiy Parts catalogue:
MX32
ToyoDIY.com
MA61
ToyoDIY.com
Otherwise I'll just have to knock up some custom ones like this: http://www.toymods.org.au/forums/faq...onversion.html
As for the gearbox I think the original box was an a40 would the original mount work or will i need to source one from another car for the A340E?
Great forum guys, loads of information here, look forward to hearing back from some of you.
Thanks - Ben
how about these ones?

To be honest mate, I'm not aware of anyone comparing MX32 and MA61 mounts side by side to make sure they are identical.
But if I were you I'd get the JZA61 mounts made up and give them a crack.
You'll know soon enough if they are right. And its pretty much a guarantee that if these don't fit, then nothing off the shelf will.
Regarding the gbox mount, you'd have to take a photo of both of them. I don't think there would be many people on this site who have experience with both 2JZ auto's and MX32 auto's.

Looking on those two links from toyodiy, I get an impression of identical part numbers... That personally gives me enough confidence to try slotting a 2JZ into my MX32 using wilbo's designed mounts... as for gearbox, wilbo's comment on using the standard W58 box with his engine mounts heavily suggest that provided the gearboxes are the same overall length from bellhousing to end, and carry the same spline, it should work, dependant on trans tunnel fitment of course.
I'm not versed on the autos in toyotas lineup, so will need someone else to wisen us on that...

"well I don't know what the world may need, but a V8 engine is a good start for me..."
Drivers side mount is the same part number, but passengers side is different.
This difference is most likely due to the captive nut welded on for the intake manifold support though, and that the rest of the mount is identical.

Hey chris thanks for the pics, looks like it's worked well for you, couple of differences for me are using the -GTE and the car being RHD, if I move the engine any further rearwards the dump pipe / rear turbo will foul on the steering box. As it is I might even be to close. The heater pipes on the firewall are also very close to the block, how'd you get around that? Are you keeping A/C? Pop up a members ride thread if you get a chance. Good to see a similar swap.
