I see this thread wound up over a year ago, and was wondering if anyone had any updates? I'm hoping to chat to someone prior to doing too much work... Is John V still everyone's top pick?

I used John for the 1GGZE/Hilux conversion. Recommended. Cost $500.

Two points of advice, if I may:

    1. Make your conversion as neat and tidy as you can, don't cut corners and if YOU think it might be dodgy, then it will be.

    2. I made a folder up of all my mods, wherein I described what I did, and supported with photographs. John really appreciated that.

    Cheers,

    Peter

again ive run my project past John V before gettng into the nitty gritty.

As Infotech did i had a printed walk through on all parts and all machine work involved ie welding this bracket using these brakes ... he loved it.

He didnt deny anything i was doing (like all else CHP 1G rnp KE70) but did suggest improvements like use right angle instead of flat steel to reinforce things.

Havent been for engineering yet (not finished) but John is all to keen to talk things out and
has always told me to call him if I have queries (ive met him once )

I thought I'd drage this one up to the top..

I'm just about the start the process of taking a stock AW11 and installing a CAMS compliant ROPS (roll cage), 4AGE-20V, bigger brakes and suspension mods. My hope is that I can do all this and still be able to be road legal.

Does anyone have any experience with any Engineering Signatories in the Illawarra? I would prefer not to have to go up to Sydney to get it engineered.

Anyone know what happened to Lakes Edge Engineering? They did the report for a 1UZ ute I bought, and have since sold to a mate who needs to get a blue slip for it, but neither of us even had the report, and we have not been able to find one or get ahold of anyone from Lakes Edge.

RTA notes the report number on the rego cert but say they dont have a copy.

Any help would be much appreciated
