    Default transmission question

    guys looking for some help

i got addicted to drifting and wanted to upgrade my engine..so i hastily sold my rb20det came from r32 gts-t and got myself a 1jz gte matic, now my concern is converting it to manual..i've been researching and checking options on the web and saw that w55-58 can be used, cant afford a r154 and from where i come from its hard getting that pulltype trany..so i was able to get a w55 and im on the process of using the bell housing from the matic trany to make fit the w55 thru machine shop'ing' the two..im confused about the spline part..

as clearly shown on the image that the spline is longer on a r154 compared to w58
due to the fact that is a pull type not a push type...but my question is,can i just use the w55 with a 1jz bellhousing from the matic and use it as a push type for my 1jz gte?for example getting a w58 clutch kit/flywheel on it to complete the conversion..will i have a problem here?

heres the link i got where the specs of the tranys are
    http://users.tpg.com.au/users/loats/...gearboxes.html

hoping that others that made this conversion possible reply or atleast forward me any links that will be helpful
    thanks

i'm assuming 'matic' you keep referencing is an Automatic tranny??

don't bother with it... there are plenty of W5X JZ bellhousing around the planet... and available brand new from toyota... then everything will just be bolt in/on/together/up
