Your best bet is talk to RTA. I am in same position with these new NCOP's, since I am in process of building a TA22 for rally and sprint circuit competition. My local RTA branch is up in the air at the moment about any cages especially 6 point.
So i am hoping to do the Targa High Country in my 1991 SW20 and need a roll cage...
I've been told a full welded job is illegal to drive on the road so therefore would have to trailer the car down to VIC... does anybody know if there is a semi bolt on option that is CAMS approved and would still let me drive the car on the road?
I've spoken to Mr Enforcer and Bond, they quoted between $2500 and $2800 but i don't know if i can still drive it on the road after???
Cheers,

let me guess, bond told you that you are on your own?
well yeah. you cant legally have a full cage and drive on the streets in nsw. (under full rego- rally rego is a different thing- so is using an UVP)
put the full cage in, build the car, drive it around till you get told not to. and then buy a trailer and a daily.
and good luck! i will be at highcountry supporting a friend, so it will be epic to have another SW20 down there

yeah was going to wsuggest rally rego...
at the end of the day, the safety of the cage and therefor you is of paramount concern. Compromising to get a road legal cage that is of little or no additional benefit wouldnt be worth the dangers to you.
But awesome luck man!
If you are serious about competing in Targa with your car, give me a PM and I will help you out with stuff.
I have alot of friends involved in the sport, as well as my best friend is australian tarmac champion 2011.. so we have the know how.
