    Default 5mge valve steam seals

Just have a question that i cant find the answer to in the trsm. how far down do the seals have to go? are they mean to be flush with the valve spring seat? (illustrated here http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Librar...aspx?S=EM&P=18) mine are sitting about 5mm from the seat (I just put them one using my hands) and there have seemed to of snapped in (i cant just pull it off with my hands) Do i need to hammer it down until its flush? on the other engines ive replaced these there was a tool used to push the seal on until it bottoms out.
i feel much better now that ive given up hope

use a socket or tube to seat them right down onto the valve guide. Pushing on by hand isn't enough (they'll just fall off). The socket/tub needs to sit on the outer edge of the seal only (If you push anywhere on the middle/seal, you'll stuff it well and good). You'll need a mallet or small hammer to tap down on the socket and the sound will change as the seal meets the guide (at which point you stop).
