Default Swaybar endlink length, does changing it have any effect?

I've got some TRD swaybars to install into my Levin, and I want to replace the stock worn endlinks with something a bit more beefy and newer, like pillowball style joints.

Now, I can use some threaded pipe with right and left hand threads to allow me to adjust the length turn-buckle style, but I want to know if this will have any effect?
If not, I'll just make the endlinks the stock length and leave it a that as it will end up easier to do (no left hand threads to worry about etc).

I know altering the position that the endlink attaches to the swaybar does have an effect (hence the Whiteline blade adjustable bars) but all I can see happening by altering the endlink length is the swaybar rotates in one direction or another as a whole.
Maybe there is some other sort of geometry changes that come into play or something?

What ever you decide, make sure that an no point the link is just about inline with the bar arm and still with bump travel available. That happens if I set my front Whiteline bar on my MR2 to its stiffest setting, the links are just about in a straight line with the bar arms at static ride height. The end result is either tearing the saddle clamp piece that holds the bar bush in place. Or ripping the bar captive nuts out of the chassis rails. It's done both.

You should be able to get spherical joints ("pillowball") at any motorsport stockist, this is what i have- two female ends on a short piece of threaded rod

I would guess the proper length for the end links is whatever keeps them at 90 degrees to the bar arms when teh car is on the ground at normal ride height?

^^^ That's exactly what I plan to do. CBC next door to work has them on the shelf, so I was planning to get some of the rubber sealed ones and do as above.

I guess I'll stick with the stock length for now as it works and see how it goes. The TRD bars aren't adjustable, but being TRD, they will fit perfectly with the stock arrangement.

Nolathane also do a generic swaybar link, basically a threaded rod with two ball joint ends. I had got some from Repco a little while back for about $50.
