hey mate mine is on the pass side rail under the car
Hey guys, fairly simple question
where abouts was the fuel filter located in a 2jzgte jzs147 aristo?
ive looked on toyodiy at the diagrams but it doesn't show actually where the filter is plumbed into. on some other diagrams it suggests that it is bolted to the body then a hose from the filter to the hard line under the intake manifold.
there is something in a plastic cover which looks suspicious under the intake manifold but its a total C*NT to get to or even get eye on, so dropping the starter (difficult/pain in the arse in the car) would be necessary for access.
edit i know the original engine (7mge) had the filter on the engine under the intake mani, but it was very easy to get access to.
thanks
Aaron

thanks, i just wanted to make sure i hadnt actually missed it and it was up under the intake manifold. i dont have a aristo, just the engine![]()
Spot on should be under a metal shroud on the passenger rear side and i pray that compliance had originally changed the filter otherwise you're in for tough love removing the original.
like i said nick, i dont actually have an aristo. put the filter in just before the soft line to the engine seems to work fine![]()
i ment i put the filter in up front. originally the cressida had the filter on a bracket mounted on the block of the engine, i made a simple bracket and put it on the front chassis rail. the filter then screwed strait into the flared metal had line. with a male>male brass adaptor the soft line went from the filter on the chassis to the soft line and to the engine. fits like a brought one.
haha, I do like aristos (not everyone does) and what ive spent so far on this project i could of actually brought one!
yep that fitted strait into the cressida, perfect length and no modification to anything![]()
I bet the cressie fuel filter is miniscule compared to the Aristo behemoth !
That old chestnut but its been a labour of love you build
Excellent glad its all running well for you....
nah its actually about the same size. its not a aristo filter, i think its for jza80 actually but the box seemed to claim it was quite universal. some micro filter brand that i picked up in japan.
true but its still a old POS and id probably rather have a aristo to be honest, far far more pimp, no conversion (other then a manual in there). still a descent bit of work left before rego and it being on the road...![]()
JZA80 filters are black & funky looking meshie style compared to the Aristo garb.
Not many Aristo's getting round your way ? Might need to look over the Derwent then![]()
