just found that the 2S engine mounts from ST141 are too wide (long) and dont match up with crossmember. help please
anyone got a SA63 crossmember?
Hi all
This is my first time so bear with me
I am building a club level? rally car on a budget. If you are married with kids you know what i mean. It is a RA65
So far i have fitted a MX73 rear end complete and now have a 3SGE BEAMS and 6 speed (from Altezza front cut) hanging off the chain block
I bought a complete front end from a SA63 which had been converted to take S13 coilovers and has P/S rack
Problems i have found so far are
1/ the sway bar will hit sump
2/ the steering shaft is too long (have shorter one)
anyone got any ideas so far

Have a look in the members rides threads, there is a recent thread with a 3SGE into RA65.
And yes, you'll need an SA63 crossmember.

if you can't find a suitable cross member I've got a handful of comparison pics between RA65 & SA63 cross member that might assist in shifting and modifying the mount platforms on the cross member.
I note in your original post that you say you've got a 'complete front end from a SA63' - is that cross-member no good?
I'm using the engine mounts from an ex-SA63 2S motor if you'd like some reference pics.
yeh sorry wasn't very clear what i said
the front end did come from a SA63 but was running 18RG
thought i was in luck till i tried to fit it then measured it up

shop guy says 2 1/4 but i think 2 1/2 as long as not too loud
front cut didnt come with engine pipe so looks like will need to customise
does anyone know of a Altezza engine pipe laying around not being used
What turbo is it running? I've got a custom built 3" dump pipe to suit a CT26 (low mount) in an SA63....
Only problem maybe is the way we positioned the turbo in my car may very well not match yours....

duro: what front swaybar did you end up going with? Just curious as to how you got the clearance to the sump that you said you needed.
no sway bar as yet. gunna try without one first
fwiw: I was going to run no sway bar on the rear of my rally barge (link in sig) but keep a bar at the front. Will be interested to see how you find the front behave with no bar (personally, I think trailing throttle & cornering & no front bar will equate to way-too-much understeer, but I'll be a slightly heavier car with a boat anchor for an engine).
with block and sump in ,i used a coat hanger and bent it to go around sump then taped it to sway bar and got white line to make custom 1 up for my ra series celica
and i use 3 inch mandrel exhaust system for my beams
any decent exhaust guy could do the 2 1/2 that i think i'll go with
thats not the issue
some half cuts come with half the exhaust unfortunately mine stops at the flange
thats why i need the engine pipe otherwise will have to tailor it
exhaust is done. got a flange plate made up for $50
engine is now running but only making 114hp at wheels on dyno
is running too lean and of course thats not easy to fix with original ecu
think it might have something to do with Greddy AFM and pod
from what i read the 3SGE's like the factory gear with factory ecu
any ideas anyone or know where i can get Altezza AFM and airbox
