Default Fuel Level Sender Ohmages (AE86 specifically)

Alright, since my in dash gauge doesnt want to work properly when removed from the dash and ziptied to the boot (could have been because i smacked it with a spanner by accident) im going to need a new enclosed gauge.

However, i have no idea of the ohmage of the Toyota senders, and Google simply turns up thousands of links of people selling crap. Anyone know the specs?

Test and measure....well at least that's what i plan to do with my RA28 fuel level sender - cos i'll be using an old Jaycar digital measurement display kit as my fuel guage....

I'd be interested to know the results of this if you do

someone has replaced mine with with a non stock item and the scale of the fuel guage is crap now (reads 3/4 when tank is actually full)... will probably replace it with something when I fit an intank pump

    Takai,
Try calling Gauge Works (08) 8445 6644. They should be able to look in the book and tell you over the phone.

Thanks Siggmeister, from what they said it goes as follows:
    F: 3ohm
    1/2: 33ohm
    E: 110ohm

Ill test that tonight as i have maybe 1/4 of a tank in there, and ill see what reading i get.

    +rep for you.

^^ Hey that is great slide86, I can now go and check the resistances of my sender and also that the arm is bent to the correct height.

Don't know whether to pos rep you since your rep suits your name so nicely

Yeah, im sad about it too. Actually im quite pissed off about it.
Suspect the ECU is falsly earthing the PCB through the chassis of the box.

Ill post more in the Members Rides thread i have.
